Upholstery AssemblerThe Upholstery Assembler position is responsible for putting the vinyl covers and or carpet on the production and warranty components and securing them in place.Essential Functions:Installs components on to sub-straights using various stretching, pulling and shaping techniquesCompletes work and inspects finished product for quality.Performs various manual assembly operations such as: trimming, hinge installation, and foam gluing.Identifies components for each task.Operates and performs daily cleaning and maintenance on various assembly machines such as: snap, hydem machine, screw guns, drills and staple guns.Identifies direction of nap of carpet.All other duties as assigned.Experience/Qualifications:Minimum degree required: High school diploma or equivalentKnowledge, Skills, and Ability:Ability for rapid mental and muscular depth perception and distanceCoordination simultaneouslyQuality mindedTravel Requirements:N/APhysical Requirements:Light lifting, under 20 lbs.Light carrying, under 20 lbs.Moderate lifting, 21-59 lbs.Moderate carrying, 21 – 59 lbs.Straight pullingPushingRepeated bendingReaching over shouldersUse of fingersWalkingStandingKneelingRepeated stretchingSpecific visual requirementsAbility to distinguish basic colorsAbility to distinguish shades of colorHearing (aid permitted)Work Environment:Outside and insideExtreme heatExtreme humidityExtreme noise, intermittentDustFumes, smoke, or gassesSolvents (degreasing agents)Slippery or uneven walking surfacesIndependent Judgement:Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation.
